here's how they work
what are public speaking practice clubs?
the opportunity to practice regularly
Desensitize your nervous system by practicing in front of other club members on a regular basis.
reduce your anxiety
No matter your fear level, these clubs will help you reduce anxiety and improve communication skills.
It's free but we depend on donations to support this program.
How do SpeakMeister clubs compare to Toastmasters and Dale Carnegie?
We love Toastmasters and Dale Carnegie! Those are great programs. But if you have high levels of fear or panic, they may be a bit overwhelming. They focus primarily on improving communication skills and don't provide much guidance on how to manage anxiety.
SpeakMeister is primarily focused on helping you overcome panic and reduce fear. It also helps you develop strong communication skills.
You can use SpeakMeister as a stepping-stone to Toastmasters or you can continue attending SpeakMeister clubs indefinitely. Both are very good strategies. The key is to practice in whatever way works best you.
I am terrified and I panic when speaking. Will this help me?
We've designed the clubs for those who are phobic and terrified of public speaking. Other participants in the club are dealing with the same fear. The steps are tailored specifically to you and what is manageable for you. You're always in control and never pressured.
How do I attend the video meeting?
You'll receive full instructions once you sign up.
The instructions will explain which video meeting app to use (such as Skype, Zoom or Hangouts). Each club may use a different app.
What technology do I need?
Most modern computers, tablets or phones have everything you need: A camera and an internet connection.
Once you sign up, we'll let you know which video meeting app to install (Skype, Zoom, or Hangouts). Each club may use a different app.
